BioMep Annual Meeting 2019 @ Lund

​

The second annual BioMep seminar was held 27.2.2019 – 1.3.2019 at the beautiful city of Lund (South Sweden). This year PhD student Jaakko Syrjälä, Professors Vittorio Pizzella and Laura Marzetti from MAMBO group participated in the seminar. Additionally, PhD student Golestan Garami and professors Cosimo del Gratta and Gian-Luca Romani from University of Chieti-Pescara also participated. The seminar program covered all the BioMep research areas. All the students got the opportunity to present their research projects. Furthermore, there were four excellent keynote speakers and visit to Max IV (https://www.maxiv.lu.se/)

STUDENT AWARDS

Two awards were given in the annual seminar, one for the best presentation and one for the student who has been the most active in promoting the program and disseminating the research for the general public. This year the awards were given to:

 

Jaakko Syrjälä (University of Chieti- Pescara, Italy) – Best presentation

Gustavo Orozco (University of Eastern Finland) – Dissemination award

SUMMARY

Overall, the BioMep annual meeting was well organized and the atmosphere and conditions were great. Students are carrying impressive work in their related research areas and it can be expected that the program will have considerable impact on the academic, medical and industry sectors.
